Property and Maintenance Opportunities

Fall Work Days - October

Spring Work Days -
Annually in April or May

Help prepare camp for the summer season, meals provided
-projects for people of all ages, gifts and abilities
-everything from spring cleaning to log-splitting

Adopt-a-Cabin Program
Congregation groups choose a cabin to update and maintain. Projects can be as involved as the group decides. They may involve cleaning the inside, providing new window curtains, or replacing an entire roof or bathroom.

Camp Maintenance

Assist with ongoing projects at Luther Park
-carpentry
-electrical
-plumbing
-painting/preparation
-gardening/landscaping

Special Projects

Assist with special projects that arise occasionally
-Finish work on the new Welcome Center
-decks
-office projects
-roofing
-bathroom renovations


Programs Opportunities

Camp Nurse

Volunteer nurses can serve for a week, a month or the entire season.
-dispense medications
-provide a variety of first-aid
-maintain first-aid supplies

Camp Grandparent

An opportunity for older adults to spend a week as a "grandparent" to campers.
-spend time with a homesick campers
-share your hobby with campers
-greet & host parents and other guests

Resource Person
Do you have a talent or skill you’d like to share at camp? Luther Park can use you in a variety of areas.
-kitchen/canteen helper
-arts and crafts teacher/helper
-staff training
-worship/devotions leader
-a special skill/talent you can share

Communications Opportunities

Mailings

Assists with stuffing, labeling, etc. of large mailings.

Presentations
Give a camp promotion at a church or Sunday School when staff members are unavailable.

Echoes Newsletter (Winter/Spring; Summer; Fall)
Assist with Luther Park’s newsletter, which is produced three times each year.
-stuff envelopes for church mailings
-take and submit photos
-write a story
-submit information or ideas

Newsletter
Winter & Spring
Assist with the Point & Cross Club newsletter, Reflections, which is mailed twice a year to all members of Luther Park’s Giving Club.

Ole & Lena Spaghetti Dinner
(April)
Help with this annual FUNdraising dinner sponsored by Luther Park volunteers and Richfield Lutheran Church.
-help with planning, set-up, cooking, cleanup

-Donate items to silent auction

Phonathon
Help call donors for their annual gift.

-Organize callers and results

Point & Cross Giving Club Dinner
Annually
Assist with the annual Thank You Dinner held each spring.
- planning, set-up, decorations displays, take-down
- assist with stuffing and mailing invitations

Quilt Auction


Held each October, the Quilt Auction offers a variety of opportunities for volunteer involvement.
- serve on the quilt auction task force
