If a medical need exceeds what our Healthcare Manager can manage, emergency medical services will be notified. We have clear protocols in place to ensure that your camper receives the necessary advanced medical care without delay. Activity Information
Campers will engage in a variety of activities during their camp experience, to see the complete list, visit our website www.lutherparkdanbury.com and look under Summer Camp FAQ. If you wish, as parent/guardian that your child does not participate in any of the listed activities, please contact Madison. Goals/Outcomes of Luther Park
Luther Park Bible Camp is committed to fostering self-discovery and growth in campers by assisting them in exploring their self-identity and discovering their unique gifts and abilities. The camp aims to enhance spiritual development by leading campers to grow in their relationship with God. Promoting positive relationships is also a key goal, encouraging campers to relate positively with others, ensuring each camper is treated with respect, and fostering an environment of mutual respect in daily interactions. Lastly, the camp seeks to cultivate environmental appreciation by developing an appreciation for all of God's creation and fostering a concern for ecology and a desire to care for the Earth. The aspired outcomes are that campers should leave with a better sense of identity and an understanding of how to use their gifts and abilities to serve others, a stronger understanding of their relationship with God, a sense of being valued within the community and the ability to show support for others, and a deeper connection to nature with a renewed appreciation for the natural world around them. Homesickness
Because campers are participating in a new routine, with new people and away from their home environment it is common that some campers may experience homesickness. Our staff are trained to talk with and help the camper as much as they can. It is helpful if parents/guardians talk about camp weeks before camp starts so the camper can feel prepared to come. If the parent/guardian think their campers may experience homesickness we recommend that they pack things that remind them of home (their favorite pillow, stuff animal, blanket, a family picture, etc.). Parents/Grandparents/Guardians may also want to write them a letter & leave it in their suitcase for them to read when they are missing you. Sending a letter or email to camp may also help the camper throughout the week. Many times, the camper is able to work through the homesickness and still enjoy their time at camp, but if not we will most definitely consult the parents/guardians about the situation and come up with a plan on how to proceed. Communication
We ask that communication be limited with your camper(s) while they are at camp, however, if you need to get in immediate touch with your camper please contact Madison (715-200-7026) or Leah (715-200-7025). You are welcome to send mail or have your family/friends send mail to your camper(s), too! We check the mail everyday, but do ask that you to try and send the mail the week before your camper is supposed to come so that we can ensure it gets to your camper(s). “Childs Name” c/o Luther Park 30376 Lakes Dr. Danbury, WI 54830 We check the email inbox multiple times a day and will deliver emails to your camper(s) at mealtimes. This is a quick way to communicate! [email protected] Packages are fun to receive at camp, however, we ask that you limit the number of packages that get sent and consider including something the camper can share with their whole cabin group. Be mindful of peanut/treenut and gluten allergies when making a decision. Promotional Pictures
